Obituary
Devorah Denise Nixon Mitchell passed away on October 13, 2021 in Houston Harris County, Texas. Devorah was born on December 22, 1963 to Harvey Hanks, Jr. and Ivy D. Nixon. Devorah accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Lee Chapel United Methodist Church, under the leadership of the late Reverend Pope. She also worshiped and an assist with the street ministry under the leadership of Pastor Kelon Dalton. She attended Bryan I.S.D. and furthered her education at Blinn Nursing College.Later she met the love of her life and married Robert Louis Mitchell in 1985. She lived and loved family to the fullest of her term and guaranteed to leave you with a smile. She worked at the shell station where she was a cashier and met many friends, while she was employed there. She loved spending time with her friends and family.She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Edith and Vernon Childress, Aunt LaVerne Johnson and Donna K. Richard and beloved sister Ivory Smith.She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Robert Louis Mitchell, her daughter, La’Quitta Nixon, grandson, Yehoushua Ali, her mother, Ivy D. Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
