Obituary
Lemar Shannon, daughter of the late Tony Shannon and Rosie Lee Henderson, was born on November 17, 1924 in the small town of Tunis, TX. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of United Missionary Baptist Church. Lemar received her formal education at Snook ISD Schools, Snook, TX. She was a caregiver, a homemaker, a very generous person and a very hard worker. She graced this earth for 96 marvelous years and was known as Miss Lemon or “Mother”. She was a very dedicated mother, grandmother, aunt and a very dear friend to all. She loved to dance (as can be seen on her video). Her favorite drinks were coffee and Dr. Pepper (just what the doctor ordered). She loved to tell it like it is. If you liked it or not, she loved to talk trash. Her favorite quotes were “pray about it with your ugly self”. Another is “you best ask somebody about me. I told you, ASK”! On Sunday, February 7, 2021. Lemar departed this earthly life and answered her Master’s call to eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her parents, Tony Shannon and Rosie Lee Henderson; four brothers, Ernest Jones, Austin Hampton, John Shannon and Billy Shannon; two sisters, Josephine Jones, and Ella Mae Jones; a son, Albert Oldham; two daughters, Jeanetta Sheffield and Vernia Oldham; three great granddaughters, Stephanie Oldham, Candace Madison and ZaConian Duren. She leaves to cherish her memory on son, Charles Oldham (Brenda) of Bryan, TX; two daughters, Linda Baird (Cleo) of Dallas, TX; Ruby Shannon of Bryan, Tx; twenty-four grandchildren; seventy-two great-grandchildren; twenty great-great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews and other relative and friends
