W. D. Maxey

W.D. Maxey was born on October 3, 1935 to Arthur and Alberta Maxey. He attended
public school in Roan Prairie, TX. He accepted Christ as his Lord and savior at a
early age at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Singleton, TX.

He later moved to College Station, TX where he resigned and became a farmer, W. D.Maxey retired from Woodson Lumber Co in 2015. There he met Leona Mondine and united in holy matrimony in the late 1970’s,.

Proceeding him in Death are his parents, Arthur and Alberta Maxey; his stepmother,
Emma Maxwell; his beloved wife, Leona Maxey; his two sisters, Loraine “LoLo”
Thornton and Charlene Kegler; his grandson, Alfred “Alfro” Curtis White.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory three sisters, Marv Bazy, Emma Quinn
(Earnest), and Joyce Albert (Cecil); three brothers, Arthur Maxwell (Patricia), O. B.
Maxwell (Rosa), and Douglas Maxwell (Margaret); three children, Alfred W. Curtis
(Shaunda), Wanda Maxie (Jr.) Chris Maxey and Shirley Jackson daughter/niece
(Perry); five step-kids, Bertha Conway (Frankie), Reginald Washington, Willie
Washington, Jessie Washington, Leon Washington; eleven grandchildren and
fourteen great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and
extended family; one close friend Gracie Hemphill one very special friend to him

Visitation will be held Friday June 3, 2020 from 2pm to 6 pm in the chapel of Daniel and Son Funeral Home, 410 W.18th st, Bryan, Tx.

Graveside Services will be held July 4, 2020 at 11:00am at Oakwood Cemetery Dean st Bryan, Tx 77803
