Gary Tom Richards

Gary Tom Richards was born March 31, 1933 to the late Oliver Boone Richard
and Pearl Caldwell-Richard. He was the sixth child of seven children. Gary
received his wings May 26, 2020.


Gary grew up in a loving home where he was taught Christian values, God first,
and family second. Gary loved his family! He never met a stranger and always
believed in helping others.


Gary was raised in New Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Bryan, where he
was baptized by the late Rev. Diggs. Gary completed his education in the Bryan
School District. He was always mechanically inclined and loved using his
hands. He was employed with Whitley Motors, Sampson Pontiac/Buick Auto
Dealership, and was the lead mechanic at Bryan’s Dishman Toyota Dealership.
Gary and the late Ernest Walker opened Walker and Richards Garage in 1971.
Gary moved to Houston in 1980 where he was employed with the City of Houston until his retirement.


Gary married his first love Ernestine Smith, April 23, 1951 and to this union
three children were born. They remained married until her passing. He later
married Zudia Jones, to this union one child was born. Gary later married Gale
M. Watson and to this union one child was born.


Gary is preceded in death by his father and mother, wives; Ernestine and Gale,
siblings; Mary Hall, Walter Richard, Oliver Boone Richard, Pearl Richard,
Ethel Champ, and Woodard M. Richard.


He leaves to cherish his memories son; Ernest (Pearline), daughters; Sharon
Dove (Jessie), Pamela Bocard (Rodney), Emily Kemper (Rodney), NaSerea Rooks
(Donnie); stepson Corain Watson; grandchildren; Eric Richards Sr. (Ashley),
Barry Richards Sr. (Santisha), Robert Carroll Jr (Wendolyn), Felton Fleming Sr.
(LaTarsha), Erlicia Carroll, Na’layiah Rooks, Kielyn Rooks, and Rylee Kemper;
fifteen great-grand children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many
dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday May 29, 2020 from 2:30pm to 6:30 pm at Daniel and Son Funeral Home 401 W. 18th st, Bryan, Tx 77803.

Graveside service will be held Saturday May 30, 2020 at 2pm At the City of Bryan Cemetery 1111 N. Texas Ave , Bryan, Tx 77803.
