Jackie Larry Columbus

Front Page of Jackie Columbus 001~2Jackie Larry Columbus was the youngest child born to David M. Columbus and Mary J. Burrell on February 4, 1951 in College Station,Tx. His father and mother preceded him in death along with his sister Margaret A. Johnson and nephew, Matron “Brad” Grays.At an early age, he confessed a hope in Christ and was baptized by Rev. Wilson at College Hills M.B.C, where he remained until he departed this life on February 27, 2017.
He attended grade school at Lincoln High School and graduated from A&M consolidated High School in 1969. Jackie went on to work for the City of College Station for approximately 15 years.
Jackie was united in holy matrimony to Gale Watson from 1976-1979. Jackie enjoyed cooking, entertaining family and friends and working. He was well known and respected by many, more importantly he always made himself available and willing to help others in the community. His family and friends will always remember him as”Jack West”.
He leaves to cherish his memories two sons, Corian Watson and Tremaine Byrtle of College Station, Tx. Four daughters, Chandra Franklin of Ft.Worth, Tx ,Kylie Bowers ( Antoine) of Laurel, Maryland, Na’Serea Rooks (Donnie) of College Station, Texas and Jackquolynn Columbus of Austin, Tx; two brothers David Columbus ( Virgina) of College Station, Tx, James C. Thompson ( Edna) of Bryan, Tx; one sister, Eleanor Grays-Butler ( Leon ) of Grand Prairie, Tx. He also leave six grandchildren, Jerlicia Stevenson, Denareon Amos, Na’Layiah Rooks, Lillianna Byrtle, Kielyn Rooks and Brianna Franklin; three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.
